Happy Artificial Intelligence Appreciation Day - IBM RPA

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE APPRECIATION DAY

Artificial Intelligence Appreciation Day is celebrated on July 16 each year. With discoveries in science, tech, and healthcare, A.I. offers the possibility of a more evolved future. A.I. tools already dominate the market making human life much easier. From travel and navigation to smartphone apps, A.I. has taken the world by storm and looks set to change the future. Although many believe that A.I. only emerged in recent years, its foundations reach back further than that.

Artificial Intelligence Appreciation Day was created to celebrate the history and accomplishments of A.I. tech and raise awareness about its current and future use cases in human life.

On this occasion, we would like to remember and share our successful artificial intelligence tests with the help of IBM RPA

She Codes Africa - IBM RPA Solution to Address Climate change

Digital transformation has become the key for processes involving people and companies.

Good morning ladies and gentlemen!

My name is Sofonie Dala, I am from Angola. I'm happy to see you again in this fantastic program!

In today's program we will be building a bot with IBM RPA that makes a difference in the world and contributes to society. We will combine technology with solutions to social challenges already developed on our platform. We will be developing code to meet today's and future needs.

Artificial inteligence: Supporting and inspiring women and girls to address tomorrow's needs and aspirations

By using opportunities offered by IBM, we will create a space that gives rural and vulnerable urban women and girls a chance to learn programming in an environment that makes them feel safe, empowered and inspired.

How does it work?

Practical exercise 1 – Starting the browser “Climax” on IBM RPA Studio

We created our own browser and named it climax-  The bot opens our medium digital platform enabling women and young people to navigate the range of available positive climate action resources and not only.

As you can see a new Chrome Browser window opened and the non-profit Talentos Multiplus page also opened.

Nice! Our first run with IBM RPA. Let's keep on going!

Practical exercise 2 – Interactive chatbot

This hands-on lab we used RPA Automation Studio to create and deploy our own chatbot. This RPA interactive chatbot educates ladies and young people to reduce their carbon footprints in the environment by avoiding plastic items which cannot be reusable.

Saving the Chatbot, then successfully running the bot

Bot asking users to send their emails to receive monthly newsletter

At the end bot asks users to send their emails to receive newsletter and subscribe to our YouTube channel

THIS COMPLETES THIS HANDS-ON LAB

As the world continues to move dramatically towards online channels, the nature of how and why we use the internet is evoluting. That evolution will not stop, which is why it is critical for us to focus on the future and invest in what people and companies will need years from now, not simply what they are desperate for today.

Leaving No One Behind in a Digital World

"Being able to use a mobile phone and being able to access the internet requires certain skills, including literacy, as well as digital skills." And if you look at education on the continent, many women fall behind men in terms of literacy levels. Some 200 million Africans are still offline — either voluntarily or involuntarily.

Therefore, this project is for those marginalized group who lack access to digital technologies and knowledge, skills and competencies required to navigate them.

Conclusions

To conclude, the IBM RPA bots represent opportunities for positive social impact. Chatbots can make needed services more accessible, available, and affordable. They can strengthen users' autonomy, competence, and (possibly counter-intuitively) social relatedness.

The project will have a positive environmental impact because it will decrease the amount of waste dumped in rivers and on land by replacing disposable items and plastic sanitary pads with washable, reusable pads in millions homes.

We make the delivery of occupational education and skills training, employment of women and young people, special benefits for the employees. Looking at the social issues our communities currently facing, we are solving it by providing skills development for empowerment.

By empowering young ladies to learn coding, we are creating leaders who will build applications that will positively impact people's lives in Angola as well as reduce illiteracy and unemployment rates.

There’s no doubt that with this IBM RPA technology we will help end period poverty in Africa. Our work built on a culture of smart strategic thinking and creative innovation, will inspire and guide youth action for both individual and systems change that enables sustainable lifestyles.

''BabyScream'' IBM RPA Anti-harassment chatbot to End Child Marriage. The tech show with Sofonie Dala

ROBOTIC PROCESS AUTOMATION (RPA)

SHE CODES AFRICA - BABYSCREAM

THE TECH SHOW WITH SOFONIE DALA, ANGOLA

Children are increasingly undergoing abuse, yes. Violence has increased within our communities. Cases of child marriage have increased; issues of children being murdered have also been heard of in many areas.

What is the solution?

IBM  RPA Web Automation and Anti-Harassment Chatbot to Prevent Child Marriage and Abuse

This solution weaves together RPA, AI among other technologies to create a solution that vastly prevents child marriage and abuse, domestic violence and teen pregnancy pregnancy in Africa. The bot connects users with agent-defenders, allows victims to report harmful practices and denounce their aggressors.

Good evening ladies and gentlemen!

We welcome everyone to our cloud environment! In this platform, we are enhancing our functionality and IT capacity.

Violence against children takes many forms, including physical, sexual, and emotional abuse, and may involve neglect or deprivation. Violence occurs in many settings, including the home, school, community and over the Internet.

Sometimes raising awareness about sexual violence happens through very practical means.

IBM RPA Chatbot-BabyScream

We designed an Anti-harassment chatbot named BabyScream to help victims of child marriage, domestic violence and sexual abuse, denounce harmful practices.

Using IBM tools to solve world´s most pressing challenges.

How does it work?

There is both an Art and a Science to Automation. The Art comes through in the creativity and imagination of the design team and the Science is evident in the steps taken to build, test and deploy interconnected software components.

Hands-on lab

IBM  RPA Web Automation and Anti-Harassment Chatbot to Prevent Child Marriage and Abuse

We used RPA Automation Studio to create and deploy an Anti-Harassment Chatbot to Prevent Child Marriage and Abuse and automate our Web.

Basically, this anti-harassment chatbot provides the victims with any kind of assistance they require. It also matches the victims with the right specialist capable to support them.

Running the Robot successfully

The bot asks them to provide their personal details such as name, age, sex, residence address and contacts. This information facilitates the connection between victims and experts from organizations and centers responsible for solving such cases.

Maria's story

As you can see in the data that the victim introduced, today we are showcasing the story of 14-year-old Maria, who is being given in marriage by her parents due to extreme poverty.

The robot also displays a list containing address, phone contact and emails of organizations that handle these cases, including police station, UNESCO, UNICEF, support center etc.

At the end of the conversation, the bot advises the victim to visit our digital platform to read good content.

Web Automation

We automated our own browser and named it babyscream - The bot opens our medium digital platform enabling the victim to navigate a relaxing meditation, telling stories of other victims and showing good practices.

NICE! THIS COMPLETES THIS HANDS-ON LAB.

Anti-harassment Chatbot-BabyScream — To End Child Marriage

Education is an essential factor in combating the worst forms of child labour, including child marriage, domestic violence, teen pregnancy, human trafficking, poverty, social exclusion and gender bias.

The main goals of the project are to strengthen prevention mechanisms against child marriage and teen pregnancy, improve the mental health and education process and support survivors safely.

Sometimes raising awareness about sexual violence happens through very practical means. In many rural communities We visit, both girls and boys learn how to sew reusable menstrual pads, which not only enables more girls to attend school, but also creates opportunities for boys to discuss their responsibility to reduce sexual and physical violence.

HISTORY OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE APPRECIATION DAY

A.I. Heart LLC established this day in May 2021. Artificial Intelligence Appreciation Day honors A.I. technology’s positive contributions to humanity. It simultaneously highlights AI ethics and encourages a national conversation about A.I. and ethics. Artificial intelligence, as opposed to natural intelligence produced by humans and animals, is intelligence exhibited by machines. A.I. research is defined as the scientific study of intelligent agents. This refers to machines that understand their surroundings and act to increase their chances of reaching their objectives.

Machines that copy and demonstrate cognitive abilities like that of the human mind, were historically called artificial intelligence. This includes problem-solving and learning. Major A.I. researchers have now rejected this approach. They describe A.I. in the context of rational behavior, which does not restrict how intelligence can be expressed. The development of A.I. has had its ups and downs.

Artificial intelligence first appeared as a storytelling device and has since been prominent in fiction, like in Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. Many of the same questions that are now being explored in the ethics of artificial intelligence were highlighted by these individuals and their fates. Mechanical reasoning was first studied by philosophers and mathematicians in the 1900s. The research of formal logic ultimately led to Alan Turing’s idea of computation. He proposed that a machine could replicate any conceivable act of logical deduction by manipulating the symbols ‘0’ and ‘1.’ The Church–Turing thesis is the idea that digital computers can imitate any formal reasoning process.

Artificial intelligence today

Artificial intelligence is rapidly changing our lives for the better making it easier, better, more entertaining, and, hopefully, longer and healthier. Between 2013 and 2014, advances in deep learning led to machines outperforming humans in image recognition, text recognition, voice recognition and many other tasks. The generative AI revolution, which, despite the many early proof-of-concept papers, went mainstream after the publication of the Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) in 2014 and Transformers in 2017, has led to the creation of many advanced generative tools and apps that are transforming our lives in the most profound way possible. Many predictions made by Jensen Huang, the prolific CEO of NVIDIA - a company that has enabled and powered the AI revolution, have come true and even exceeded expectations. Instructional Transformer-based Large Language Models (LLMs) like ChatGPT are already in mainstream use. ChatGPT can already outperform me in the many writing tasks, and we even co-authored an academic paper. Today, there are millions of professionals working on the development of AI systems and applications. Many of these professionals, including the author of this article, would very likely celebrate 'International AI Day' if there were one.
